Jaresa & Kelli's Kick Competition 09'

I had the privilege of covering my first event thanks to Kelli Website! and Jaresa. The people I met are not only shoe collectors, they are people who put their heart and soul into an aspect of fashion that they love... KICKS

Arie capturing it all on tape! She's good at what she does!

Kelli, Jaresa, and Arie
Loved the color in Jaresa's Kicks
They can tell you where every shoe they have came from, how much it was and what made them pick that particular shoe. It's a part of their life and with the support of family and friends they are able to keep it going. Hopefully I can build up the same amount of usable cams as their collection!

A stroll through the park

I used to get a lot of practice in St. Bernard State Park in my spare time. I liked the birds and flowers that stopped for a visit! Some shots were hard to get because somehow I managed to get noticed LOL. But here are a few I managed to capture.

I like the butterflies... They let you get really close sometimes, or they may even land on you!
These wildflowers are really delicate and you have to catch them at the right time. If it rains, they close up almost instantly, and they bloom at the weirdest times too!
I had to catch this robin through a window. If I would have went outside then he would've ran!

Missed a few days

I have been off for a few days and had a chance to take a breather... Breath taken, now back to work I go! LOL. I wanted to catch everyone up on what I have done and where I am now. After the cemetery shoot(still my favorite!), I decided to be a tourist in my own city and get out and take more pics, and learn new things about my camera. The city picture on my first post was my favorite for that shoot. Here are a few shots. Hope you like!
This was at the end of the night. I really liked the motion blur. I wanted to show movement instead of stopping it.

I like to watch artists at work
The house and the fence were very unique, even for the French Quarter!

Thought I'd add some drama with a crazy angle!

A Little More of My Beginning

On one of my off days I decided to take a walk through the Masonic Cemetery and get a few snapshots. the rain was trying to decide if it wanted to show up as well because the clouds were nearby and there was a little drizzle and prayed it held up because I haven't had the camera long enough yet and I had no equipment to protect it! Said a prayer and continued shooting. The urns became my favorite pic of the day. I couldn't wait to get home and show what I have done.

The clouds gave a great backdrop and supplied me with some shade from the relentless sun. The nerve of me to want to take pics at high noon huh?!

I think they all turned out great though. Here are a few more...

Hello everyone. I am new to the whole blog scene but I figured this would help me be seen and help others be thought of! I have always liked photography but never thought I would take it this far. I was given a very nice camera that I still shoot with as a gift from my parents. (I am forever thankful!) Ever since, I played with the thought of doing it professionally because I fell in love with it and it was hard to put the camera down, because there is so much out here to capture and moments that need to be frozen in time to be forever remembered. I will be posting pictures on here almost daily and show what I have done in the past, and what I am currently doing. I also have lots of inspiration around me so I will be thanking a lot of people who helped me along my path to where I am and where I will be.

I have a few modeling sites that I am on, but I am not limited to model/fashion photography. I have a few lenses that I have that work well for what I like to do.

With all that being said... Lets get to the pictures and posting! I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed capturing them! Thanks for your support.

This Is one of the first pics that I enjoyed the most
I love the lights and how busy it was. It was fun walking around the city and this one got my creative juices flowing!
